The Perfect Procrastination Tool

20 Aug

The 36th Avenue

My new favorite obsession. I could spend hours on end entertaining myself with the amazing DIY projects. I suggest all of you to stop what you’re doing right now and find your next project immediately! I know my Mom and I are about to tackle on the “best chicken enchiladas“. I’ll tell you how they turn out!

Until next time friends and family 🙂

The Mercer Island Beach Club (enough said)

9 Aug

ImageThere are so many images/memories that come to my mind when i think of the Mercer Island Beach club. But there are two specific memories I am about to talk about (one now and another in a part two). I will go ahead and use code names so I don’t embarrass anyone. (Well one friend in particular…and after reading this they will be thankful i did so!) So as we got older our need to sneak out became more infrequent–because now we grew some brains and decided it’d just be easier to lie to our parents. We no longer had to pretend to be in bed by 11… because our parents all thought we were sleeping out. Walla–problem solved. So in one of our many nights out on the town we enjoyed spending it at our beloved “Beach Club”. Continue reading

Runaway Train

26 Jul

I’m going to make this brief. I thought this story is fitting for the upcoming events of Seafair. This was a couple years ago, I was in college but not yet 21. But naturally “DGAF” and got wasted anyway. Seafair days consist of Mardi Gras-esque antics on the water with a break around dinner, maybe a quick catnap, then fraternity late night type partying for the rest of the night. So I was on my dinner break. I thought it’d be nice to get home to a home cooked meal, relax for a minute or two and then head out for the nights activities.

Quote of the Day

25 Jul

“Mama told me when I was young
‘Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it will help you some sunny day’
‘Oh, take your time, don’t live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
You’ll find a woman and you’ll find love
And don’t forget, son, there is someone up above’
And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won’t you do this for me, son, if you can'”

Lynyrd Skynyrds “Simple Man” is one of my favorite songs (at least for now, will probably be posting it under “song of the now” relatively soon). I Just love the song and the lyrics are so great! So I hope you all can be a “simple kind of man and be something you love and understand”.

Secret Admirer?

Secret Admirer?

Apparently someone has a crush on my brother, sister and I. One of my sisters friends was perusing through and found a photo that was taken of us from over 6 years ago. I find this extremely interesting, funny and confusing all at the same time. Hmmm…

I’m about to divulge in my past a little more–and perhaps make some of my few (very few) readers I have think less of me…or maybe just think differently. My parents, oh my poor, poor parents. They were the ones who had to deal with me when i was a little girl. i wasn’t always the easiest child, I very rarely cooperated. Not only did I have a knack for causing mischief, I also had a shrilling scream that could literally shatter glass. I used this specific “talent” frequently. To this day my closest family friends like to remind me how obnoxious and loud I was. One specific time that my parents enjoy reminding me about was when I was a lot younger–in fact, I was so young I don’t remember this personally, I only know this actually happened because of the many times I’ve heard it from my mother. The Love of My Life

In middle school I had eyes for one man, and one man only. He was charming, sensitive and ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Eminem, aka Mashall Mathers the Third, was going to be my prince charming.

It’s whats for Dinner…

15 Jul

via Cooking Light

I have always been a fan of cooking. Even though some of my previous roommates (ahem Natalie and Sam) think the only thing I can concoct is Mexican food. (Sorry I was lazy and cheap). When I’m at home I spend all of my time watching the Food Network (When I’m not watching Criminal Minds or any other crime related show) and like to think maybe one day I’ll be the Next Food Network Star. The Food Network is like porn, or I guess you can call it “Food Porn” (refer to the South Park Episode: 14, Season 14). And nothing could be further from the truth. So here’s a dish that hopefully I’ll be making tonight (or sometime in the near future), with many more delicious meals to come!

“Closing time… “

15 Jul

“…Time for you to go back to the places you will be from.” –Semisonic

As I have already expressed in a previous post I made the decision to move home. And the date of departure is approaching pretty quickly. This decision was a long time coming and now that I finally made up my mind I feel like I can step back and finally relax. I haven’t been this happy in a while. But that doesn’t mean in the slightest that I am not sad. I am so sad to leave the amazing friends I have reconnected with as well as the ones I’ve made. Which, they’ve all been ABSOLUTELY amazing.
